The Horseshoe Baltimore has it's own rules for the Fire Bet. I simply moved to a table that was still $15.00. It was a little surprising considering that it was 5:00p on a Thursday. After I played on a $15.00 table for a couple of hours, they bumped the table up to $25.00. I visited on a Thursday late afternoon and evening and the table limits were $15.00 and $25.00. Craps players - I visited Maryland Live! last winter (which has excessive table limits) and was hoping that the Horseshoe would have more reasonable table limits considering the competition a few miles away. I am a Diamond Player with Caesars, so I assure you that I've visited my share of properties. I only play craps, so I made sure that craps was available prior to visiting. The Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore is very nice! They have used the same features as the recently opened Horseshoe Cincinnati (which is my favorite casino). I thought the cement floor on large portions of the lower level was a bit tacky. And I liked the fact that they had overhead signs pointing the direction to restrooms and the cashier, among other things. I did like the square layout of the casino, as it made it easy to find something again. There were many bars, and maybe that's because they are not allowed to serve free liquor because of MD law. The parking was free which was great, although reading management's comments on other reviews, they do charge for parking when there is an event at the nearby M&T stadium. These minimums were too high for me, so I didn't play. And I believe roulette was also $15 minimum. I didn't see the $10 minimum blackjack tables they say are downstairs. All the blackjack tables were $15 and $25 minimum. But they had 100X odds at the craps tables. All the craps tables were $25 minimum, and only one was $15 minimum. So I was surprised when I had two more drinks in Binion's Steakhouse (which was pretty enclosed and I enjoyed the quietness of a player piano), and found my bill was $8.72 even though it was still Happy Hour. At the 14 Forty bar, our drinks were $6.50 (quite reasonable, I thought).

We had a drink and learned it was Happy Hour (with 2 for 1 drinks). They were set up about half way between the levels.

There was a live band playing VERY loudly in the atrium-like center of the two story casino. The weather was mild and dry the day we visited, so I don't know what they do when it is cold (do they have heaters?) or when the rain is blowing sideways. But smokers can go out on several balconies and use the few slot machines out there. The best thing is that the casino is smoke free. The casino is very bright, and has nice chandeliers. We checked out the new Horseshoe Casino during a recent trip to Baltimore.
